Confession & Communion at St. Vladimir’s + Rule to Prepare for Communion
21/11/21, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

Confession and Communion are the two sacraments we most often partake of as Orthodox Christians and thus it behooves us to learn about these, how to prepare for these, and how to best take advantage of the Grace that our Lord freely gives us in these sacraments. At St. Vladimir’s we have created a special web site for this purpose with much information in this regard. Please find the web site listed below and please contact Fr. Gregory with questions!

The single best way for us to pray for our friends and loved ones is to arrange for them to be remembered at the Divine Liturgy. We serve approximately 130 Divine Liturgies per year, so your friends or loved ones will be prayed for approximately ever three days as a rule at St. Vladimir's. Please visit the page linked below to learn more and to arrange for your friends and loved ones to be commemorated at the Divine Liturgy at St. Vladimir’s

Annual Bake Sale is December 18!
18/11/21, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

Save the date! And spread the word! The St. Vladimir’s Christmas Bake Sale is back! More information to come soon, but now is the time to reach out to our Head Sister, Leta Nikulshina, and ask her what she needs you to bake. This can be a great fund raiser and a great outreach to our local community if we all pitch in and make it just that. So let’s do that! Please contact Leta today, or when you see her in church, and ask how you can help. And tell everyone you know to come join us! A flyer can be found at this link:

Weekly Educational Offering - Prepare for the Coming Sunday!
17/11/21, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We present here a short educational offering for both children and adults on the upcoming Sunday's principle Gospel reading so that all can better prepare for the Divine Services. Parents are asked to review the children’s portion with their children. It is very important for us to attend the Divine Services on Sundays and whenever else we are able, but in addition it is our spiritual responsibility to educate ourselves and our families in the faith. It is our hope that this mid-week offering will be an aid in this regard. Please contact Fr. Gregory with questions or suggestions.

For Adults: from the writings of Blessed Theophylact

For Youth: from the Antiochian Archdiocese (various age groups)

IOCC Sunday
16/11/21, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

This Sunday is International Orthodox Christian Charities Sunday. As in past years, we will take up a collection at the cross to support this pan-Orthodox group which provides humanitarian aid to all – regardless of their confession of faith. IOCC helps those in need. And our bishops have asked us to help IOCC so they can fulfill this mission. If you cannot be present this Sunday, but would like to make a donation, please contact our Treasurer, Mikhail Fisenkov to arrange your gift: treasurer@stvladimiraami.org.

Help with GLLS
16/11/21, 06:00 AM

It is true that we have not even started the Nativity Lent yet (begins November 15/28 annually), but it is time to start thinking about the Great Lenten Lecture Series! If you would like to help plan this annual event (a spiritual lecture after each Sunday Liturgy of Great Lent), or you would like to volunteer as a speaker, please contact Fr. Gregory. We will try to bring in at least one nationally known speaker, as we have in the past, so if you have ideas in that regard please share too. Yes – we have some time. But if we get started early we’ll have a better product for our parish family and provide them more spiritual growth during Great Lent than if we rush at the end. Please contact Fr. Gregory today to help!
