Stewardship Education Communication Q2-2018
19/10/18, 12:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

At the Parish Council meeting on March 11, 2017 a Stewardship Education Team was appointed by the Parish Council consisting of Fr. Gregory, Jack (Alexey) Mitchel, and Leta (Ksenia) Nikulshina. The charge of this team is to provide our parish family with educational information about stewardship. In this regard, we intend to send out an email and post on our parish web site a quarterly communication.

Please find the quarterly communication at the link below. Please note that we will have a question and answer period during the parish meal on Sunday, October 28, 2018 to allow for questions in an open forum. However, please feel free to contact any of us, or any of the Parish Council members, with questions at any time. Or, if you prefer, use the second link below to ask a question or make a comment anonymously.

We thank you sincerely for your generous support of our parish! And we look forward to hearing from you at your convenience regarding this information.

Nativity Ball Planning Time – we Need a Committee Chair
16/10/18, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

This year marks the 20th anniversary of our Nativity Ball! Our Head Sister, Leta Nikulshina, has been chair of the Ball Committee for 10 years! And she just can’t do it this year. We need someone to step up and lead. Yes – you! Not someone else – you! Leta will not disappear – she will be there to help. In the early years of the ball it was common for someone to lead the committee for year or two and then hand it off to a new chair. We’d like to get back to that cadence. Grab a friend or two and join us – it will be fun! Email info@stvladimiraami.org to volunteer today!

Monday First Things - Teachings of the Holy Fathers

“Let us not then be ashamed to confess the Crucified. Be the Cross our seal made with boldness by our fingers on our brow, and on everything; over the bread we eat, and the cups we drink; in our comings in, and goings out; before our sleep, when we lie down and when we rise up; when we are in the way, and when we are still. Great is that preservative; it is without price, for the sake of the poor; without toil, for the sick; since also its grace is from God. It is the Sign of the faithful, and the dread of devils: for He ‘triumphed over them in it, having made a show of them openly’ [Colossians 2:15]; for when they see the Cross they are reminded of the Crucified; they are afraid of Him, who bruised the heads of the dragon. Despise not the Seal, because of the freeness of the gift; but for this the rather honour your Benefactor.”

School Thanks + Next Steps

THANK YOU TO ALL who made it possible for us to meet and exceed our mandated goal for fund raising for the new school building. Already today Jack is running around finalizing permits and we are working to get the building up before the construction season ends. Please continue to pray for the success of this endeavor! God willing we will get the shell of the building up this construction season, prepare the interior during the winter, and be ready to welcome families to the school as they are making decisions about their 2019 school plans. If all goes well we will begin instruction in the fall of 2019 and this is our plan. Your spiritual and financial support have made this possible and we are VERY thankful for your efforts! With God’s help and your support we have great hope that instruction will begin in September 2019!

“‘And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit’ (Acts 2:3-4). They partook of fire, not of burning but of saving fire; of fire which consumes the thorns of sins, but gives luster to the soul. This is now coming upon you also, and that to strip away and consume your sins which are like thorns, and to brighten yet more that precious possession of your souls, and to give you grace; for He gave it then to the Apostles. And He sat upon them in the form of fiery tongues, that they might crown themselves with new and spiritual diadems by fiery tongues upon their heads. A fiery sword barred of old the gates of Paradise; a fiery tongue which brought salvation restored the gift.”
