Minor Updates to Liturgy and Vigil Schemas
14/9/15, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory
Please note that we have changed the Liturgy and Vigil schemas to correspond to the TONE OF THE WEEK rather than the # of weeks after Pascha or Pentecost. This is a very minor change, but makes keeping track of this easier for the choir and readers. The new schemas have been posted on our web site:

Please join us this evening at 6:00 p.m. and tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. for our monthly cycle of Divine Services entirely in English. This month we are privilaged to have the opportunity to commemorate one of the great saints of Rus' - St. Alexander Nevsky. St. Alexander's life is informative for us as Christians living in the west and we think it is well worth reading, which is why we include it here below. But don't limit yourself only to reading about his life - come celebrate his life by participating in the Divine Services. Please join us as your personal schedule allows!

Beheading of St. John the Baptist Commemorated Tonight & Tomorrow
10/9/15, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory
Please join us for the feast of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist at St. Vladimir's tonight at 6:00 p.m. for Vigil and tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. for the Divine Liturgy. This is an important day for us. St. John was a key figure in the life our our Lord and his death is very instructive for all of us who live in a culture of immoderation. The best way to learn more is to attend the services listen carefully to the words and hymnography of the feast. Second best would be to read the explanation of the feast below. Please join us as your personal schedule allows!

Lots of Services this Weekend
9/9/15, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory
This will be a very busy liturgical weekend at St. Vladimir's. Please join us as your schedule allows for any/all of the services listed below.

Thursday 6:00 p.m. - Vigil for the Beheading of St. John the Baptist
Friday 8:00 a.m. - Divine Liturgy for the Beheading of St. John the Baptist
Friday 6:00 p.m. - Vespers & Matins for St. Alexander Nevsky - All English Cycle
Saturday 9:00 a.m. - Divine Liturgy for St. Alexander Nevsky - All English Cycle*
Saturday 6:00 p.m. - Vigil**
Sunday 10:00 a.m. - Divine Liturgy**

*Following the Divine Liturgy will be a pannykhida for Bishop Alexander of Buenos Aires. Bishop Alexander led a youth retreat and the hierarchal services at St. Vladimir's before his repose. He was also instrumental in so many finding the Church through his extraordinary missionary efforts. Please join us as we pray for this good, kind bishop.

**Services this Sunday will be in honor of Sts. Peter & Febronia, patron saints of the married. Husbands and wives are urged to prepare themselves prayerfully, confess their sins on Saturday evening, and partake of the Holy Mysteries together on Sunday. What better image of marriage as God's plan for the mutual salvation of those who enter in to it than to partake of the Holy Mysteries together - especially on such a day?!

Weekly Educational Offering
9/9/15, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory
We present here a short educational offering for both children and adults. Parents are asked to review the children’s portion with their children. It is very important for us to attend the Divine Services on Sundays and whenever else we are able, but in addition it is our spiritual responsibility to educate ourselves and our families in the faith. It is our hope that this mid-week offering will be an aid in this regard. Please contact Fr. Gregory with questions or suggestions.

Driveway Transition this Week – Please Beware
8/9/15, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory
This week the asphalt for the cutout on Jackson Road will be surfaced with asphalt as will part of the new drive way. The present driveway will cease operations this week sometime. When that happens we will communicate with you via email, using our web site, and Twitter. We will also mark the closed driveway clearly with construction barrels. Please be cautious this week when you come to church and if you have any questions please call Nathan or Fr. Gregory. Thank you for your understanding!
