Walk of Life 2019
27/6/19, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We have been offered the opportunity to host the Diocesan Cross Procession “Walk of Life” this Labor Day weekend. And we want to do it! This has always been a positive event for our parish, deanery, and diocese. We have always gotten more out of it as a parish than we have put in. But the timing is rough. This event will happen two weeks before our annual festival. So we need a volunteer to lead this effort – someone who is not on the festival committee or a festival lead. Please contact Fr. Gregory right away if you can help. Some things have already been put in place – so you wouldn’t be starting from scratch!

Here are pictures from previous Walks of Life at St. Vladimir’s:

Weekly Financial Update
26/6/19, 06:00 PM

“Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him...” (I Corinthians 16:2)

We present here our weekly collection information, links to our Donation Page, and our Treasurer’s Corner page.

Two Important pieces of information to remember as you review this data:

1. Income is captured ONLY from regular collections and the Network for Good “General Fund/Tithes” page. There are other income sources for the parish that are not captured here. We feel it is important to cover our baseline expenses (based on 2018 actual expenses) from regular collections and the General Fund/Tithes income, but we do not do that regularly (thus you will see a lot of red numbers at the weekly collection variance link). Please consider establishing a recurring donation at our General Fund/Tithes page or via bank transfer (contact our Treasurer, Mikhail Fisenkov at treasurer@stvladimiraami.org to learn more about bank transfers) to help us erase those red numbers.

2. Assure that your weekly tithe is provided to your parish – even when you are not present – by establishing a recurring donation at our General Fund/Tithes page or via bank transfer (contact our Treasurer, Mikhail Fisenkov at treasurer@stvladimiraami.org to learn more about bank transfers).

Our Elderly Parish Family and Students Need Rides to Church
25/6/19, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We do not see our elderly parish family members at church every Sunday. And that is true for some of our students too. The reason for this is: they need rides to church. And they need a little prompting sometimes in this regard since they don't want to be “a bother”. It is a privilege to serve our our elderly parish family members and students in this way and we need to be quite zealous about it. If you can help organize or participate in this ministry please contact Fr. Gregory. There are not a lot of folks that need rides, but they need to be contacted early in the week to arrange the Sunday ride, assured that they are not bothering anyone, and they need to be picked up in a timely manner on Sunday morning. One person doesn't have to do all this, and frankly speaking, based on where our elderly and students live, it would be impossible for one person to do it all. We need several people to help. Please contact Fr. Gregory to take part in this very honorable activity – an activity worth waking up early on Sunday morning to participate in.

Invite those in Need to Lunch Every Sunday
20/6/19, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We invite our parish family to invite friends and loved ones who are in need to our parish meal each Sunday at 1200. As a parish we have a responsibility and a desire to follow the Matthew 25 commandments of our Lord. This is a one small way in which we can do this. Spread the word! We are happy to have others join us for lunch!

Pentecost Thank You
17/6/19, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

Thank you to all who worked so hard to make our Pentecost just wonderful at St. Vladimir’s this year. With God’s help and our efforts we were able to serve three liturgical cycles over the course of four days. The church was decorated beautifully. The choir sang magnificently. The food was plentiful and delicious. And that is just what our eyes saw and our ears heard. There were many more who worked diligently for the glory of God behind the scenes. To all we say: THANK YOU! And congratulations with the feast!
