Posted by Fr. Gregory

Beginning with Sunday, May 24 some of the Divine Services will be open to St. Vladimir’s parishioners to attend. You must sign up ahead of time. You must follow the St. Vladimir’s Quarantine Exit Plan, which outlines hand washing, physical distancing, masking, how to confess, and many other pertinent details of how we return to corporate worship safely. You can find the sign up sheet and the Quarantine Exit Plan at this link:

SIGN UP TO ATTEND DIVINE SERVICES

Let us be diligent in making sure that St. Vladimir’s is a place that gives life – not that causes death. We hope that our zeal in following the Quarantine Exit Plan will help our state in our own small way to continue to exit the quarantine and never return!

At the Parish Council meeting on March 11, 2017 a Stewardship Education Team was appointed by the Parish Council consisting of Fr. Gregory, Jack (Alexey) Mitchel, and Leta (Ksenia) Nikulshina. The charge of this team is to provide our parish family with educational information about stewardship. In this regard, we intend to send out an email and post on our parish web site a quarterly communication in preparation for a quarterly parish finance report out.

Please find the quarterly communication at the link below. Please note that we will have a question and answer period and report out on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. via Google Meet to allow for questions in an open forum. You can find the link or the phone number on our parish Google calendar at that date and time. Those who have any trouble with this whatsoever should contact Fr. Gregory.. Please feel free to contact any of us, or any of the Parish Council members, with questions at any time. Or, if you prefer, use the second link below to ask a question or make a comment anonymously.

We thank you sincerely for your generous support of our parish! And we look forward to hearing from you at your convenience regarding this information.

St. Vladimir’s Plan for Exiting the Quarantine
18/5/20, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

Please find our St. Vladimir's plan for exiting (and entering back into – if we have to do that at some future time) the quarantine at the link below. The Parish Council approved this plan unanimously after a robust collaborative process. It is important that each St. Vladimirian read and understand the plan before returning to church. We are VERY MUCH looking forward to gathering our parish family for worship again when we get to Step 4, but until the pandemic is well and truly passed we will be worshiping slightly differently than we did before the quarantine, and it is best if people understand how this will work BEFORE returning to church. It is understood that this plan will be inconvenient for everyone on some level. This is not a philosophical or political statement. Rather, this plan is based on God’s admonition: “Thou shalt not kill.” (Exodus 20:13) We are confident that all St. Vladimirians, no matter one’s personal thoughts about the quarantine, the virus, mitigation efforts, or anything else, can unite around God’s guidance to us in this regard and will therefore diligently follow this plan.

Please contact Fr. Gregory, or any of the Parish Council members, with questions or concerns.

Monday First Things: Teaching of the Holy Fathers

“Oppose no man in anything; do not quarrel, and do not lie, and do not swear by the name of the Lord your God. Be despised, and do not despise. Be wronged, and do not wrong. It is better for things of the body to perish with the body than for something pertaining to the soul to be hurt. Go to court with no man, but endure to be condemned, being uncondemned.”
