St. Vladimir’s Plan for Exiting the Quarantine
18/5/20, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

Please find our St. Vladimir's plan for exiting (and entering back into – if we have to do that at some future time) the quarantine at the link below. The Parish Council approved this plan unanimously after a robust collaborative process. It is important that each St. Vladimirian read and understand the plan before returning to church. We are VERY MUCH looking forward to gathering our parish family for worship again when we get to Step 4, but until the pandemic is well and truly passed we will be worshiping slightly differently than we did before the quarantine, and it is best if people understand how this will work BEFORE returning to church. It is understood that this plan will be inconvenient for everyone on some level. This is not a philosophical or political statement. Rather, this plan is based on God’s admonition: “Thou shalt not kill.” (Exodus 20:13) We are confident that all St. Vladimirians, no matter one’s personal thoughts about the quarantine, the virus, mitigation efforts, or anything else, can unite around God’s guidance to us in this regard and will therefore diligently follow this plan.

Please contact Fr. Gregory, or any of the Parish Council members, with questions or concerns.

“Oppose no man in anything; do not quarrel, and do not lie, and do not swear by the name of the Lord your God. Be despised, and do not despise. Be wronged, and do not wrong. It is better for things of the body to perish with the body than for something pertaining to the soul to be hurt. Go to court with no man, but endure to be condemned, being uncondemned.”

Easing Out of the Quarantine

The Parish Council met on May 6, 2020. At that meeting we discussed the quarantine thus far, and how we might be able to start to gather again at St. Vladimir’s as the State of Michigan begins to slowly lift the quarantine.

Weekly Educational Offering - Prepare for the Coming Sunday!
29/4/20, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We present here a short educational offering for both children and adults on the upcoming Sunday's principle Gospel reading so that all can better prepare for the Divine Services. Parents are asked to review the children’s portion with their children. It is very important for us to attend the Divine Services on Sundays and whenever else we are able, but in addition it is our spiritual responsibility to educate ourselves and our families in the faith. It is our hope that this mid-week offering will be an aid in this regard. Please contact Fr. Gregory with questions or suggestions.
