Confession & Communion at St. Vladimirís + Rule to Prepare for Communion

Posted by Fr. Gregory

Confession and Communion are the two sacraments we most often partake of as Orthodox Christians and thus it behooves us to learn about these, how to prepare for these, and how to best take advantage of the Grace that our Lord freely gives us in these sacraments. At St. Vladimirís we have created a special web site for this purpose with much information in this regard. Please find the web site listed below and please contact Fr. Gregory with questions!

Winter Weather & Divine Services
3/3/23, 04:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

Friends,

The weather outside is a little frightful, so please use your best judgment on coming to church tonight. We will follow our inclement weather policy, which weíll provide below. A decision about tomorrowís Liturgy will be made later. Please keep a close eye on your email/our web site/Facebook.

Fr. Gregory

In case of inclement weather St. Vladimirís parishioners are urged to use caution and their best judgment when deciding whether to travel to the parish church for Divine Services. If the priest is able to reach the church the Divine Services will be conducted, but if parishioners perceive the driving conditions to be dangerous they should not feel compelled to travel to church.

General Confession & Communion of the Parish is this Weekend
2/3/23, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

As is our tradition at St. Vladimirís (a pious tradition found throughout the Russian Orthodox Church) we urge all our family and friends to attend as many of the services as possible during the first week of Great Lent (beginning with the very important Forgiveness Sunday Vespers), with the goal of confessing and partaking of the Holy Mysteries on either Saturday, March 4 (Theodore Saturday) or Sunday, March 5 (The Sunday of Orthodoxy). Let us begin our Great Lenten journey of repentance and preparation for the feast of feasts, our Lordís Glorious Resurrection, by forgiving each other and partaking of the Cup of Life together as a parish family!

Weekly Educational Offering - Prepare for the Coming Sunday!
1/3/23, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We present here a short educational offering for both children and adults on the upcoming Sunday's principle Gospel reading so that all can better prepare for the Divine Services. Parents are asked to review the childrenís portion with their children. It is very important for us to attend the Divine Services on Sundays and whenever else we are able, but in addition it is our spiritual responsibility to educate ourselves and our families in the faith. It is our hope that this mid-week offering will be an aid in this regard. Please contact Fr. Gregory with questions or suggestions.
