Parents should use their best judgment regarding their children, as always. Those who confessed on the weekend prior to the Wednesday Presanctified need not confess again on/before Wednesday.

Weekly Educational Offering - Prepare for the Coming Sunday!
23/2/22, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We present here a short educational offering for both children and adults on the upcoming Sunday's principle Gospel reading so that all can better prepare for the Divine Services. Parents are asked to review the children’s portion with their children. It is very important for us to attend the Divine Services on Sundays and whenever else we are able, but in addition it is our spiritual responsibility to educate ourselves and our families in the faith. It is our hope that this mid-week offering will be an aid in this regard. Please contact Fr. Gregory with questions or suggestions.

During Great Lent at all weekday services, and on many Saturdays (beginning even before Great Lent with the first Soul Saturday on February 26) the departed are specially commemorated.

You can arrange commemoration of your friends and loved ones by visiting our special page in this regard here:

There is lots of good information there and you should read that all at some point. If you don’t have time to do that now please visit our on-line form to submit names (under the commemoration of the departed you can choose “Great Lent 2022: All Weekday Services + Soul Saturdays”):

If you are in a financial position to make a donation for commemorating your loved ones you can do that here – if you aren’t this is not a problem since the Church does not charge for prayer, but is thankful for donations in this regard:

Attending Church in the Pandemic + Preparing for the End of the Pandemic
22/2/22, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We understand that these days different people have different thresholds of comfort with crowds, like the large number of people that gather at St. Vladimir’s on Sunday mornings. Please consider one of our weekday services if Sunday does not work for you. We have Liturgy every Wednesday, and often other weekdays as well. The full schedule of services can be found here:

PARISH MONTHLY SCHEDULE

We invite you to join us on our live stream if you cannot come to the church – you can find more information on that here:

LIVE STREAM INFORMATION

Those that have symptoms should remain at home. Our priests are happy to visit you as needed. Those who have tested positive for Covid should remain at home until they have completed the course of their disease. More information in this regard can be found on the Center for Disease Control’s web site:

CDC COVID ADVICE

It is time to begin to prepare ourselves spiritually for the end of the pandemic, because it will end. If we are not comfortable coming to church on Saturday night/Sunday morning we really need to push ourselves to be at church some other time during the week when there are fewer people present. The longer we simply allow ourselves to fall out of the habit of attending church AT ALL during the pandemic the harder it will be to come back to church when this is all over. Thus, NOW is the time to start reestablishing the habit of church attendance, even if not on Sunday. Success only comes before work in the dictionary, and building good habits is hard work. So let us work towards success! With our sincere effort and God’s help we will prepare ourselves to be back in church every Saturday night and every Sunday morning – with even BETTER church attendance than we practiced before the pandemic. Let this be our goal: to turn the time we spent away from church during the pandemic into even more frequent church attendance when the pandemic ends!
