Confession & Communion at St. Vladimir’s + Rule to Prepare for Communion

Posted by Fr. Gregory

Confession and Communion are the two sacraments we most often partake of as Orthodox Christians and thus it behooves us to learn about these, how to prepare for these, and how to best take advantage of the Grace that our Lord freely gives us in these sacraments. At St. Vladimir’s we have created a special web site for this purpose with much information in this regard. Please find the web site listed below and please contact Fr. Gregory with questions!

Congratulations to those Celebrating Nativity Today
25/12/21, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We congratulate all our parish friends and family who are celebrating the Incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ today. Although we will not celebrate for 13 days as a parish we understand that most of our society is celebrating today - and whether you celebrate today or in 13 days it is still remarkable and noteworthy that more than 2000 years after the birth of the Savior the world still pauses to note His Incarnation on this day. May this be the year that the hymn of the angels heard all those centuries ago over Bethlehem be actualized in our world: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, goodwill and peace.”

Dear St. Vladimir’s Parishioners! We would like to urge you to consider whether making a donation to the parish before December 31, 2021 would be helpful for you as you consider your tax liability for the year 2021. Donations to St. Vladimir Church are deductible to the greatest extent allowable by law. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions in this regard. It is also very important that your address be up to date in our parish database. For various technical reasons we were unable to show the movie about St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco on Sunday, December 5. So we are sharing the links here and asking you to watch the movie before Sunday, December 26. On that day Fr. Gregory will give a presentation on his trip to Ukraine to participate in the events described in the documentary and share pictures from his trip. We’ll have time for questions and answers/discussion about the movie and Fr. Gregory’s presentation. Please plan to join us!
