Confession & Communion at St. Vladimir’s + Rule to Prepare for Communion
19/12/21, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

Confession and Communion are the two sacraments we most often partake of as Orthodox Christians and thus it behooves us to learn about these, how to prepare for these, and how to best take advantage of the Grace that our Lord freely gives us in these sacraments. At St. Vladimir’s we have created a special web site for this purpose with much information in this regard. Please find the web site listed below and please contact Fr. Gregory with questions!

So we are sharing the links here and asking you to watch the movie before Sunday, December 26. On that day Fr. 15/12/21, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

Spread the word! The St. Vladimir’s Christmas Bake Sale is back! NOW IS THE TIME (the bake sale is this coming Saturday!) to reach out to our Head Sister, Leta Nikulshina, and ask her what she needs you to bake. This can be a great fund raiser and a great outreach to our local community if we all pitch in and make it just that. And it is GREAT for our parish family to work together and be successful for such an event as this! So let’s do that! Please contact Leta today, and ask how you can help. And tell everyone you know to come join us! A flyer can be found at this link:

Weekly Educational Offering - Prepare for the Coming Sunday!
15/12/21, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We present here a short educational offering for both children and adults on the upcoming Sunday's principle Gospel reading so that all can better prepare for the Divine Services. Parents are asked to review the children’s portion with their children. It is very important for us to attend the Divine Services on Sundays and whenever else we are able, but in addition it is our spiritual responsibility to educate ourselves and our families in the faith. It is our hope that this mid-week offering will be an aid in this regard. Please contact Fr. Gregory with questions or suggestions.

For Adults: from the writings of Blessed Theophylact

For Youth: from the Antiochian Archdiocese (various age groups)

St. Nicholas Commemorated this Saturday/Sunday
14/12/21, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

The annual feast of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker falls on December 19. This year this is a Sunday – this coming Sunday! On this day we will serve the Divine Services in honor of St. Nicholas of course, but our tradition is also to have a children’s procession this day, and to provide gifts for our parish children in honor of the St. Nicholas as the patron saint of children. It will be a big day! Please join us for Vigil (6:00 p.m. Saturday), Divine Liturgy (10:00 a.m. Sunday), or even better: for both!
