Volunteers Needed!
19/6/21, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We need you! There are many, many things that need to be done at our parish and it simply is inefficient to burn out people one or two at a time by asking one or two people to do more than their share. It is much better for everyone to pitch in and share the work so that no one burns out – this is how a family works. This year at our annual meeting we will discuss volunteer efforts as part of membership. That is, that sweat equity will be a part of what we, as parish family members, donate to the parish. Each of us only has time, talent, and treasure to give. Everyone understands about the treasure part. We need to pay bills. But we are under-utilizing the vast storehouse of time and talent found in our parish family! Let us begin to tap into that storehouse today! Visit the web site below to learn more about how you can help our parish family with your time and talent!

Evangelism: Give a Ride to Church
18/6/21, 06:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

UM and EMU students need rides to church. We would like to have one person who is the organizer of these rides. This point person would organize drivers who are willing and able to pick up students on Sunday morning. Please talk to Fr. Gregory if you can organize or if you are willing to drive. A little effort in this way can be a BIG help to students. Speaking of Fr. Gregory, he was picked up at his dorm every Sunday morning by Milo & Olga Radulovic for his entire freshman year. We can’t promise you we’ll get another priest out of this deal, but this is the right thing to do. Please help if you can!

We built the barn for the festival, but in the pandemic we used it for worship. The last Divine Liturgy in the barn will be on June 27. On Saturday, July 10 we will meet after Liturgy (about 10:00 a.m. or so) to start turning the barn back into festival space. Join us! This will be work - but it will be fun! We need you! Let's get off to a great start preparing for this year's festival! All are welcome!

Russian Festival 2021 is a GO!
17/6/21, 12:00 PM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

The first meeting of the festival committee, together with the parish council, took place on Sunday, June 13, 2021. At that meeting subcommittee chairs were confirmed. This coming Sunday, the great feast of Pentecost, the sign up for festival duties will be available at St. Vladimir’s. We are VERY EXCITED to confirm that the Russian Festival will take place this year after a one year break due to the pandemic. People are ready – we are hearing from them already that they are looking forward to the festival! Now we need yo (wait – something is missing there – and that is “u”). Please sign up early and for as much time as you can as a volunteer. This is fun! It is work – but it is fun! We all work together to introduce our neighbors to our faith and culture – and provide a wholesome family environment for all. Please join us! Sign up this Sunday!

Weekly Educational Offering - Prepare for the Coming Sunday!
16/6/21, 06:00 AM
Posted by Fr. Gregory

We present here a short educational offering for both children and adults on the upcoming Sunday's principle Gospel reading so that all can better prepare for the Divine Services. Parents are asked to review the children’s portion with their children. It is very important for us to attend the Divine Services on Sundays and whenever else we are able, but in addition it is our spiritual responsibility to educate ourselves and our families in the faith. It is our hope that this mid-week offering will be an aid in this regard. Please contact Fr. Gregory with questions or suggestions.

For Adults: from the Orthodox Church in America

For Youth: from the Antiochian Archdiocese (various age groups)

“If you are constantly angry and complaining, it is indicative of a proud soul. Humble yourself, reproach yourself, and the Lord is powerful to give you comfort and a helping hand.” St. Anatoly of Optina (“Living without Hypocrisy”, p. 35)
